~ Welcome to 2nd Semester ~

First off, I’d like to say welcome to everyone who is either interested or looking forward in joining us for our second round! There’s going to be quite a few changes come this year, but Mod C and I are really happy to share them with you! The first change, or addition, really, is the addition of Mod C to the team! Mod R isn’t available come this round to help out, but we were lucky to bring Mod C along to help with everything! I want to say thank you to all those that applied for the mod position, and I’m sorry that I couldn’t choose all of you. I hope that you’ll all cheer both of us on as we come into this new semester, and hope that you’re all as excited as we are to start!

Second of all, like with any fest, we do need to set some ground rules. And though there aren’t very many rules, they still need to be said just so we have some guidelines to go by when everyone is submitting prompts and then later on, sending in their claims! I’ll try to make it brief, so please bear with me:

Student Handbook

Exo University is a fest dedicated to college/university AUs. These are the only AUs that we will accept - as long as the main theme/plot of your prompt includes someone going to college, graduating from college, or going into college (prompts can include high school seniors getting ready for their freshman year) then your prompt will be accepted!
Mods have the right to decline any prompts that don’t fit with our theme.
We will not accept prompts that have the following themes/triggers: dub/noncon, pedophilia, incest.
Age gap prompts will be accepted, as long as both characters are over the age of 18.
At least one of the members of EXO (past and/or present) have to be part of the main pairing. Other group members are allowed (such as SHINee, SUJU, Got7, BTS, etc) just so long as half of the main pairing is an EXO member!
The pairings don’t have to be m/m prompts either! You can submit genderbent prompts, or prompts that include one of the EXO members with a member from a girl group (ex: Chen/Amber)

New Changes

This round will be held on both AO3 and Dreamwidth! Unlike last round, which was held on LJ and AO3, we will be posting all fics on AO3, and then linking them on DW. This will not be until posting though, so if you have any questions or concerns, we're certainly open for feedback!
As for prompting, we will have a google form available. You do not need an AO3, LJ, DW to participate in prompting. It is open to everyone, and you also do not need to commit to writing a fic if you submit a prompt. You can submit a prompt without writing and write without submitting a prompt (or you could do both!)
There will be a beta sign up and archive available once prompting is over and claiming has begun!
You do not need an AO3 to participate in the fest! Though we highly encourage it so we can link back to you after reveals, you could have a LJ, DW, AO3, AFF, Wattpad, Tumblr, etc to sign up. So long as you have something we can link back to come reveals (unless you would like to stay anonymous)

hello students! this is just another information post so that you all know exactly what's going on this semester. if you have any further questions, please feel free to contact the mods on either LJ or twitter. we also have an ask.fm that is open for questions as well (all links will be put down below).

Semester Calendar:

Prompting starts on May 21st and ends on June 11th
Our prompt archive will be open to students for viewing on June 12th
Claiming starts on June 13th and ends on June 27th
First informal Check In is on July 22nd
Last Day to Drop Out is on August 18th
Second Formal Check In is on August 20th
Final Check In/Submissions are on September 10th
Posting starts on September 25th
Guess Who is TBD
Reveals is TBD

Word Count/Drop Out Info:
   The minimum word count for this fest is going to be 1.5k! That means at the first informal check in, you will need to have at least 500 words. Second formal check in you will need to send us your document in either .doc or .txt already in html format (please do not send it to us in .pdf or .docx format because mods cannot access those on certain computers). For second check in your fic will need to have at least 1000 words. If you need an extension for second check-in, please let us know at least two days in advance. We understand if you haven't reached the word count yet, and don't worry, we won't bite if you don't quite have it! But please keep us informed.

   The last day to drop out of the fest is August 18th. As much as we don't want to see you go, we understand if you're busy and cannot complete your fic. If we have not heard from you within 72 hours from second check-in (so August 23rd), we will unfortunately have to drop you from the fest. We understand time differences, and as this fest runs on EST, all dates and deadlines will close at 11:59:59pm on said day (we'll let you know the time difference from where you are if you ask us). If we have not heard from you, or you drop out after the final drop out date, we will unfortunately have to ban you from participating in all future events.

   If you need an extension after the final submissions deadline, please let us know in advance. We will be giving a maximum of 10 days extension. Anything past that - if we have yet to receive your fic - and we will unfortunately need to drop and ban you from the fest (please don't make us do that!).

Beta Info:
   If you're interested in becoming a beta, or think you might need one for your fic, please let us know! We want to gauge how many people are interested in the fest and plan accordingly. Make sure to either @ us on twitter, or send us a message on our ask.fm.

Prompting information will be coming out on May 20th, so please stay tuned, and we look forward to seeing all of your lovely prompts!
